  Mother's Day Re-Visited
Along with other surprises, I received a poem from my best girl on Mother's Day. The instructions indicate that she should fill in information about her mom to complete the poem. I have corrected some of the spelling, not because I'm fastidious about spelling, but because I just couldn't read it the way it was written. I needed her to read it to me. Since you don't have her to interpret, I've fixed a few words for you. Here it is:

Yes, I know that babies are not actually kind, they're egocentric. And, most moms may not appreciate being called fast. OK, I'll admit that I've never thought of myself as rabbit-like. But, if I was 'Magnet Hero' I could be a porcupine on Halloween by sticking nails to myself! How cool would that be?!

Really, though, I enjoyed being called gentle, loving and bright. Perhaps her characterization of her ma was biased because she is fond of me (or at least she's used to me). I'd be pleased if this was the way the world at large perceived me. That's unlikely, however. I think the poem says more about her than it does me. She's a one of a kind original.

Loved the weekend rant. Sorry aBOUT BENDING THE CAR! Oops... didn't mean to shout!
Glad all seems OK. My verse from this morning is appropriate... 1 Thess 5:18 ...in everything give thanks! Say Hi to your man for me.

Julie, you are all of these things. Rabbits are gentle until they hit puberty, then they turn into were-rabbits intent on mauling you to pieces. So don't hit puberty, ok?

:D Love ya.

Keasty - How's the western US? I passed your greeting to Wil and he's planning to drop you a line. :) Thanks for the verse. I'm genuinely thankful today. :)

Susan - I do. More with each passing day.

Doug - I loved the poem, but questioned if she is developmentally able to separate her identity from mine. Parenting observations always make me think about the spiritual parent. I wonder how much of that sneaks into our worship. How often do we create God in our own image?

Jennifer - YIKES!! I'll be alert for the need for hormone replacement therapy!
