  Proof
When Riley came home, he deposited the proof in the back yard, in case anyone is interested.
We didn't save it.

Comments:
Ah, shucks. I woulda had it bronzed!

It's in the trash can if you want me to get it for you. I'd be happy to send it to you!
After all, it's a symbol of His great love! I still can't get over it - we could have chosen the surgical route and had exactly the same outcome with a big incision for Riles and a big bill for us.
I'll rescue it right away and send it your way...

I'm glad you got comments added! I tried to comment yesterday. Poor Riley! I know how he feels. I had an obstruction two years ago. No, I didn't eat a sock. I had a hysterectomy and the doctor sewed my intestine shut. It took them 2 weeks to find it, and I was VERY close to death. So I can sympathize with the pooch! I'm so glad he's all right.

Wow! How scary for you! Maybe you and Riley should have lunch together and swap stories. He'd love it!!!

I took time to nag you by email and
I would like to have been able to nag longer... but no, you had to make it possible for us to comment.
I am thrilled you started your blog.

Yep, I'm pretty compliant. I get right on it when you go to nagging. (If only that went both ways....) Did I say that?

Except if you eat them. He can't heal them then.

Thanks for the offer but I feel the joy should be yours to cherish. ;-)

Doug - I actually like Riley better now than I did a week ago. I recently would have said he's a pain in the butt, but now he's the miracle dog! Vicarious enjoyment of my pet experiences would have to be recent to be enjoyment at all! :)

Jennifer - I suspect Riley wouldn't make a good candidate for someone's dinner, but I think you're right. If he became dinner, the healing would be moot.

Mimi - The offer stands. You could use the sock as a symbol of your healing as well. Consider it!

One of these days I'll figure out how to post a photo of Riles. I guess it doesn't matter though. He looks just like a golden retreiver...
